Matthew Campbell is Senior Lecturer in English Literature at the University of Sheffield. He has published widely on English and Irish poetry. He is the author of Rhythm and Will in Victorian Poetry (1999), editor of The Cambridge Companion to Contemporary Irish Poetry (2003) and co-editor of Memory and Memorials 1789-1914: Literary and Cultural Perspectives (2000) and Beyond the Pleasure Dome: Writing and Addiction from the Romantics (1994).
